How do I apply?
To apply, visit the UC San Diego Graduate Application website when the Fall 2026 admissions cycle opens in September. Check our website regularly for updates on this date.
Application guidelines are available on our Apply pages. Qualified candidates will be invited for interviews. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and admission offers typically require a response within 28 days. All graduate programs require a final commitment by April 15.

Do I need to take the GRE/GMAT?
No, the GRE/GMAT is not required for admission to the program.
I don’t have the years of experience and /or an advanced degree required for admission or my GPA is below 3.0. Can I still qualify?
Possibly. The admissions committee will review your entire application, including the depth of your professional experience, the strength of your recommendation letters, and your academic background. These factors are all taken into consideration in determining whether or not an applicant qualifies for admission to the program.
My TOEFL Score is below 85 or my IELTS score is below 7.0. Can I still qualify?

Is this a STEM recognized program?
Yes, this program is a STEM degree.
Is this a Curricular Practical Training (CPT) eligible program?
No, this program does not have a CPT eligible course. International students can, however, get jobs on campus without applying for CPT. Please see the International Services and Engagement Office for more information.
Can I apply for STEM OPT after I graduate from this program?
Yes, students who graduate from this MS can apply for STEM OPT. Please see the International Services and Engagement Office for more information.
