Admissions Requirements & Documentation
All qualified and eligible students are encouraged to apply. The PMTO MAS Program does not consider race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, and/or other protected categories as part of the application and selection process.
Eligibility
- Advanced Degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, PA, MSN, MPH, etc.)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with training comparable to the University of California and at least three years of related work experience will be considered
- Minimum GPA: 3.0 from graduate, undergraduate, or post-baccalaureate studies
Required Documents for Admissions Review
- Online Application for graduate admission
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Statement of Purpose – Explain why this program interests you, how it aligns with your career goals, and how you plan to leverage your degree
- Three Letters of Recommendation (including at least one from a relevant employer)
- TOEFL or IELTS Scores (for international applicants) – TOEFL minimum: 85, IELTS minimum: 7.0
- Interview – You may be invited for an interview via Zoom or in person
- No GRE/GMAT Required
Admissions Deposit
A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required upon accepting admission. This amount will be applied to the first Fall quarter’s tuition.

- Unofficial Academic Records – Upload transcripts from all post-secondary institutions. Official transcripts are required if admitted.

For International Applicants
- TOEFL or IELTS Scores – Must be submitted using UCSD institution code 4836. Tests must be taken within the last two years, and applications will not be reviewed until scores are received. UC San Diego accepts TOEFL iBT Home Edition and IELTS Indicator test scores.
- Foreign Degrees & Transcripts – A WES course-by-course evaluation is required. Only WES evaluations are accepted by UC San Diego.
