Anthony Magit, MD, MPH
Dr. Anthony Magit has been on the UC San Diego SOM faculty for thirty years practicing as a Pediatric Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat). His research interests include equitable access to clinical research. He has served as the Chief of Staff at Rady Children's Hospital, the Director of the UC San Diego Human Research Protections Program, and the Director of Physician Integration for Rady Children's Hospital. He is currently the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Rady Children's Hospital and the Medical Director for the UC San Diego Office of IRB Administration. 

He is a faculty member in the UC San Diego Research Ethics program with responsibility for leading courses in research ethics for graduate students and fellows, as well as leading a course in Bioethics within the UC San Diego SOM. His clinical interests include cystic-fibrosis related sinusitis and lymphatic malformations.  

A graduate of Stanford University and the UC San Diego SOM, Dr. Magit completed his internship and residency at Duke University, followed by a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He also earned a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and completed a certificate program in Pediatric Bioethics at Mercy Children's Hospital in Kansas City and the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine. Dr. Magit received the 2016 Sylvan Stool Award for outstanding teaching and mentorship from SENTAC (Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Advances in Children). Additionally, he has been named among San Diego Magazine's "Top Doctors" for more than 10 years and one of the "Best Doctors in America." Among his professional activities, Dr. Magit serves on the boards of the San Diego County Medical Society and statewide California Specialty Care Coalition, an organization committed to advancing the needs of children with complex medical needs.
